Snæfellsjökull Apartments is located in Snæfellsbær in West Iceland at a former US Coast Guard base at Gufuskálar.

Gufuskálar has a rich history since first settlers came to Iceland over 1000 years ago. Through the middle ages it was one of they key fishing centers in the area where rowing boats would go out daily to catch the cod that lives just off the coastline. Signs of village ruins may be found all over the area which nature is reclaiming slowly but surely.

The views from the apartments are great with ocean view on one side and the lava fields and Snæfellsjökull Glacier on the other side. Gufuskálar sits about 2.5 km from the nearest village so light pollution is at a minimum for viewing norther lights in the winter.

The apartments have a patio with views of the ocean and surrounding mountains.

The apartment is spacious with 4 bedrooms, fully equipped kitchen with an oven and microwave, a bathroom with a bathtub and hairdryer. Towels and linens are available at the apartment. The property has a private entrance.

The nearest attractions are Snæfellsjökull Glacier, Hellnar, Arnarstapi and Búðir as well as Lóndrangar which are pillars rising from the sea. Djúpalónssandur Beach is also not to be missed.
