Fosshotel Eastfjords, which won the European Heritage Awards in 2016 from the European Commission and Europa Nostra, is housed in four buildings with rich histories dating from 1898 to 1907, originally designed for French fishermen. Among these, the French hospital, constructed in 1903, is particularly famed.  In 1939, the house was moved and used as an apartment building and school for a long time. A resolution was reached in 2008 to reconstruct it at its original spot. Within the hotel, guests can enjoy complimentary access to a museum dedicated to French fishermen, and can dine at L’Abri, a restaurant influenced by French cuisine.

The Eastfjords of Iceland is an area that is lesser known and less commonly considered for an Icelandic adventure.
