We offer 3 sizes of self-catering log cottages by the waterfront of Lake Ólafsfjörður. All have private hot tub on veranda. Free parking by each cabin.

Ólafsfjörður is a small quiet town in the middle of north-Iceland. It is surrounded by mountains and valleys, Lake Ólafsfjörður is at the northern end of the lake that Brimnes Hotel and Cabins are situated. In Ólafsfjörður town guests can shop for groceries, go out to dinner, visit the natural history museum or just enjoy walking in the town. Hiking trails around Ólafsfjörður are many. When you stay at Brimnes Hotel and Cabins you get  access to Kayaks and rowing boats on Lake Ólafsfjörður, free of charge (summer season).

How to get here:If you are driving you take highway 1 or use your GPS in your car. It is always good to buy a map. It is important during the winter time not to take road 802. Your GPS might tell you to go there because it's the shortest way but it is closed during most of the year.  If you are taking the bus. You take the fly bus from Keflavík to Reykjavík BSÍ terminal There you switch to another bus heading to Akureyri, where you swicht to bus 78 to Ólafsfjörður.  If you take the flight, you go to the airport located in Reykjavík and fly to Akureyri.  From there you either take the bus to Ólafsfjörður, or rent a car at Akureyri airport.
