Hotel Basalt is located in Lundarreykjadal, one of the valleys of Borgarfjörður, about 100 km away from Reykjavík. Road 52 through Lundarreykjadal connects Vesturland and Suðurland via Uxahryggi and through the national park at Þingvellir. The Silver Ring, the Golden Ring and Snæfellsnes are examples of interesting day trips from the hotel.

Basalt Hotel is ideal for individuals and groups for short or long stays. We offer 11 double rooms and two family rooms that also have good access for the disabled. All rooms have a private bathroom with a shower.

Basalt Hotel's restaurant is open every day from 18:00 to 21:00. The restaurant offers food made from quality ingredients from the rich countryside of Borgarfjörður.

In addition to peaceful countryside and beautiful nature, there are also many things to do nearby. There are beautiful hiking trails on site, Þingvellir, Reykholt and Borgarnes are within an hour away and ten minutes away from the hotel is Krosslaug, a hiking trail to Pétursvirki and the town of Oddsstaðir where horse riding is offered.
