Hotel Skálholt is a beautiful place in the uplands in the countryside of Iceland. It's a perfect place to stay when you want to visit places in the Golden Circle or in the South Coast of Iceland since we are situated near so many places to have wonderful day tours.

In Skálholt we have two 2 bedroom cottages with a private hot tub. There are 4 beds in each cottage, a small kitchen with a small stove, a microwave and a small refrigerator with a freezer. There is a dining area and a living room with a TV. The cottages have free Wi-Fi for guests.

Hvönn Restaurant in Skálholt is open from 9 - 16 on weekdays. We offer meals made from local produce from farmers in the area and we try our very best to have everything we serve homemade. There is also a bar where we serve both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

Skálholt is one of the largest historical sites in Iceland and a bishop's residence since 1056. In the basement of the church there is an exhibition with artefacts and fragments of history. It is possible to book a short and long site tour for groups and individuals throughout the year with a guided tour of the church, the exhibition and historical sites in Skálholt.

Skálholt cottages is a perfect place to stay if you want to be self sufficient in your travels. It's situated on your Golden Circle tour and it's also close to the South Coast area in Iceland. A perfect place for those who want to enjoy the countryside, the view, the natural beauty and the tranquility.
