BERGMÁL Music Festival takes place on the summer solstice, June 20, 2026, set within the extraordinary landscape of Þingvellir National Park – just 40 minutes from Reykjavík.

Located between the drifting tectonic plates of North America and Eurasia, Þingvellir is not only a UNESCO World Heritage Site, but also the historic heart of Iceland, where the nation’s parliament was founded over a thousand years ago.

KALEO will headline BERGMÁL at Þingvellir, joined by a handpicked group of artists. The lineup features some of Iceland’s most celebrated musicians, including Emilíana Torrini, Mugison, Stuðmenn, Helgi Björnsson, Hjálmar, GDRN, Júníus Meyvant, KK, and Árný Margrét – with more special guests to be announced.

The festival is hosted by Saga Garðarsdóttir, Bergur Ebbi, and Snorri Helgason.

The presale starts on April 9 for those registered on the Key to Iceland mailing list (limited number of tickets).

General tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis from April 10.

Thingvellir

A gathering place of Icelanders through the centuries

Guests are encouraged to use public transport, official shuttles from Smáralind, with parking available at Smáralind parking facilities for private vehicles.
There will be plenty of parking for private cars at Tæpastígur, close to the bus stops at the Hakið National Park Service Center.
Those who choose not to use public transportation are encouraged to take to car pooling to minimize the number of private cars and thus preventing traffic congestion.

    Mugison is an Icelandic musician who moves between being a performer, a folk singer, and a rock monster.
    His music can be simultaneously gentle and sincere or loud and electrifying. At Þingvellir he will be performing with a band. He began his career as a one-man band, blending rock, folk, and electronic elements, and released has received numerous Icelandic Music Awards. In addition to his solo work, he has composed music for Icelandic films, and is internationally acclaimed for his powerful live performances and inventive collaborations.

  • Hjálmar

    Hjálmar is one of Iceland’s most beloved reggae and pop bands, known for their upbeat sound, infectious melodies, and unmistakable live energy. Formed in Reykjavík in 2002, the band has played a major role in popularizing reggae-influenced music in Iceland while blending it with pop, folk, and Icelandic lyrical traditions. With multiple chart-topping albums and songs, Hjálmar has become a staple of Icelandic festivals and summer concerts. Their music is defined by warmth, humor, and positivity, making them a crowd favorite across generations.

    Emilíana Torrini is an Icelandic–Italian singer-songwriter best known for her international hit “Jungle Drum”, and critically acclaimed solo albums. Emilíana has collaborated widely across music, film, and television. She co-wrote songs for Kylie Minogue, contributed vocals to projects by Paul Oakenfold and Kid Koala, and performed “Gollum’s Song” for The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers. Her music has featured in numerous TV series including Grey’s Anatomy, Luther, and Twelve Monkeys.

    Kristján Kristjánsson also known as KK is an Icelandic blues and folk musician. KK was born on March 26, 1956 in Minnesota, United States, but later moved to Iceland with his family. He attended music school in Malmö, Sweden for four years and then played his way across Europe from 1985 until 1990, when he returned to Iceland. He has been nominated for the Gríma Prize twice and has been awarded the Icelandic Music Prize twice.

    Unnar Gísli Sigurmundsson has been releasing music under the Júníus Meyvant moniker for years. Unnar was somewhat brought up in a musical and religious household in Vestmanneyjar.   The island’s microscopic population and wild and rugged nature was a great playground for the energetic Unnar. Júníus Meyvant’s afflicted, concise, melodic and rich take on freaky folk pop has a highly familiar and soulful feel to it and a hint of attitude.

    Árný Margrét is a singer-songwriter from Ísafjörður in Iceland’s Westfjords. She began studying music at an early age, and quickly gained attention in Iceland and internationally for her powerful songwriting and captivating performances. Her sound blends indie folk with a distinct personal atmosphere, capturing both beauty and ache inspired by life among the mountains and long winter darkness of the Westfjords. She has released two full-length albums and two EPs, while spending much of her time touring worldwide.
