Skjól Ritual

One of Sky Lagoon’s signature features is the Skjól Ritual — a Seven-Step Ritual inspired by Nordic wellness traditions. It’s a journey through heat, cold, sauna, body scrub, and stillness, designed to awaken the senses and restore balance. The contrast of slipping from a cold dip straight into the hot steam, all while gazing out over the sea, is both invigorating and deeply relaxing.

Designed for authentic feel

Design is a key part of the experience. Turf-roofed buildings, basalt stone, and elements drawn from traditional Icelandic architecture give the lagoon an authentic, grounded feeling — making Sky Lagoon a thoughtful and welcome addition to Iceland’s rich bathing culture.
